In February and March, the project team consulted local residents and stakeholders on the design code which will guide and inform each phase of the development. The consultation period is now closed, and the team would like to thank everyone who engaged with the design code consultation and left their feedback. All of the feedback has been carefully considered by the project team and helped to inform the final submission documents. You can view the design code consultation information below.

Introduction

Welcome to Bellway Latimer Cherry Hinton LLP’s design code consultation. Here, you can learn about what we are proposing for the Cherry Hinton North development design code, and submit your feedback to the project team.

Experienced housing providers

Outline planning permission was granted for a residential-led development on this site in December 2020. This established the principle of development for:

  • 1,200 new homes

  • 40% affordable homes

  • Two schools

  • A through traffic route including buses connecting Coldhams Lane with Gazelle Way

  • At least 11 hectares (27 acres) of public green space including play space

  • Shops and facilities around a central Village Green

  • Dedicated cycle lanes and streets

Now, we are consulting residents on the design code for the development. This is an important document which will guide future development on the site, including:

  • The appearance of the buildings and their layout

  • Street scene

  • Landscapes

  • Sustainable design

We want to hear the views of local residents and stakeholders as part of this consultation. You can submit your views on our dedicated consultation feedback form. All feedback will be considered by the project team before a final design code is agreed.
